Fears: Themes -- insecurities around technology, pedagogy, writing; issues of time; getting a bad grade; access issues
I have never considered myself comfortable with new technology, so that is definiitely my fear.
The 30- to 45-minutes technology-based lesson seems rather daunting. I hope that I can conjure up a concept and deliver it well.
I am worried about writing the page for our textbook. I am not great with technology, so I am worried I may struggle with evaluating and analyzing it.
I fear that I will not have much to contribute to the class because of my limited experience in the classroom as a teacher.
I fear that I may have overloaded myself by singing up for this class. Additionally, I have limited classroom experience.
I hope I have enough time to complete all assignments well. Some weeks, I work 50-60 hours.
My greatest fear for this class will be that it's a waste of time and money, and that I won't get anything useful out of it that I can use in our classroom.
My fear is that I won't transition back into taking classes well. Also my spelling/grammer is painfully bad, worried I will trip up on that
I fear that we all may not have enough time to present and evaluate all of our presentations.
My fear is that I will spend too much time getting up to speed on my technology gaps.
I will get dinged for typos.
I don't want to get left behind!!!
learn lots of great things that I won’t be able to do because I won’t have access to the technology.
My FEAR is that I will completely screw up the rubric and get a bad grade!
I fear that I will not learn much "new" technology...this isn't a Microsoft Office class, right? :)
Hopes: Themes: diversity; application; learning new technologies; ways to enhance teaching; making good connections; learning from peers; getting published
I will have a broader understanding of how different disciplines view technology.
My hope is that I will learn an immense amount of new information in which I can incorporate into the classroom.
My greatest hope is that I get lots of good ideas that will serve me well in our music classroom at St Ann's in the immediate future and in a homeroom later on.
I hope to learn different ways of using technology so my future students will enjoy learning using different technologies.
I hope I can find ways to use technology to assist with student motivation.
I hope I find a new way of thinking about how technology can be integrated into the learning experience and I find many new tech tools
I hope that I will learn a lot about using technology in the classroom and that I will share something that others can use outside of class.
I hope that this class will be as beneficial as I believe it has the potential to be.
I hope that I can learn from my peers in this class and be able to apply ideas and especially teaching techniques in my classroom.
I hope to learn more about technology and how to apply my new knowledge in my awesome classroom :)
I am excited to learn about different technologies that will enhance my classroom.
y HOPE is that I will make great connections in this class with people who care about teaching and gain tech skills and ideas.
I hope we create new ideas for our projects that get published on CECH's webpage and later become famous.
My hope is to be using new technology in my classroom this quarter.
I hope I will find new ways to incorporate technology into my teaching and improve on how I already utilize technology.
Considering our fears and hopes, what agreements can we make that will decrease the likelihood that our fears will come to be and increase the likelihood that we will achieve our hopes? What should our norms be?
we check electronic communications (e-mail, blackboard, wiki) and responds within 48 hours
we can relax and not worry about typos for reflective blogs
we help one another out with peer reviews
we share helpful, free resources that are easy to access
we have ability to take risks and try new things
we can feel free to ask each other for help when working on technology new to us
